Joey Wheeler fans, this one is for you. Konami's next Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG core booster, Beyond the Brave, hits stores on October 9, 2026, and it rebuilds the deck of Yugi's best friend with new versions of his favorite cards.
Packs carry a suggested price of $4.49, and the set has 100 cards in total.
Dark Time Wizard leads the deck
The centre of the new Joey cards is Dark Time Wizard, a Quick-Play Spell with two jobs. It can search out cards that mention it, and it has a coin toss effect. Win the toss and it can wipe your opponent's monsters and deal damage. Lose it, and Joey's own monsters take the hit instead.
That gamble is pure Joey, and it fits the luck-based style that made his deck popular in the first place. Collectors who want the original versions can still find them in Legendary Collection 4: Joey's World, which gathered many of his anime cards in one box.
Destiny HERO, Atlantis and new Traps
Beyond the Brave is not only about Joey. It also includes an array of Destiny HERO cards, Atlantis and Daedalus support, and a batch of new Trap cards. Destiny HERO players in particular have reason to look at the full list once it is out.
Rarity breakdown
The 100 cards split into 10 Secret Rares, 14 Ultra Rares, 26 Super Rares and 50 Commons. Five cards also come as extended art Ultra Rares and as Starlight Rares, and another 20 cards have Starlight Rare versions. Starlight Rares are the hardest pulls in any core booster, so expect those to be the chase.
If you remember opening Starter Deck: Joey as a kid, the nostalgia factor here is strong.
More Yu-Gi-Oh! before the year ends
Konami has two more booster sets lined up for 2026. Magnificent Maestros arrives in North America on November 13, and Glorious Victors follows on December 4. They come after Magnificent Monsters, the September premium set that gave older cards new foil treatments.
Planning to buy sealed? Our Yu-Gi-Oh! booster boxes cover plenty of past sets too, and the deeper card stock sits in Yu-Gi-Oh! singles for anyone filling out a Joey deck card by card.
