Pokémon TCG Delta Reign: Mega Rayquaza ex returns, prereleases start October 24

Rayquaza is back in the spotlight. The Pokémon Company has confirmed Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution: Delta Reign for a worldwide release on November 6, 2026, and the green sky dragon is the face of the whole set, from the booster wrappers to the Elite Trainer Box.

Prerelease events open on October 24, so local players get their first packs about two weeks before the shelves fill up.

What is in Delta Reign

Delta Reign is the sixth main expansion of the English Mega Evolution series, coded ME06. The official count so far is more than 135 cards. Four new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex lead the list: Mega Rayquaza ex, Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex. Those four also take the four booster pack wrappers.

Delta Reign is the English version of a Japanese expansion that came out earlier this summer. That gives collectors a head start on the card list, although the English release can still add its own extra rares.

Why Mega Rayquaza matters to collectors

This is the first time Mega Rayquaza has appeared in the physical card game since 2015. Its last outing came in the XY era, and longtime collectors will remember the chase versions from Ancient Origins singles, which still turn up in binders and trade folders around the store.

The new card has already pushed interest in older Rayquaza printings. If you own a few, now is a sensible time to check their condition before prices move again.

Products and prerelease dates

The launch lineup follows the usual pattern for a main set: Elite Trainer Box, booster box, Booster Bundle, three-pack blisters and single-pack blisters. The Elite Trainer Box carries an MSRP of $49.99.

Prerelease weekends run from October 24 through November 1. Each kit is built for a quick sealed event, and we keep a shelf of past Pokémon prerelease packs for anyone who missed an earlier season. Players on the digital side can add the set in Pokémon TCG Live from November 5.

How it fits the rest of 2026

Delta Reign is the last main set of a busy anniversary year. It follows the 30th Celebration October releases, which are still rolling out every week this month.

If you plan to open a full box on release day, sort your sleeves first. Sealed collectors who prefer to keep product closed can browse our Pokémon booster boxes from earlier eras while they wait.
