MTG Reality Fracture is out: echoed pairs, shattered mirror cards and the Bloodline Recollector
Jace rewrites the Multiverse in the finale of Magic's current story, and every Play Booster carries an echoed pair.

Magic: The Gathering's Reality Fracture reached tables on October 2, 2026, a few days after its MTG Arena launch on September 29. It closes the current Magic story arc, and the villain is a familiar face: Jace Beleren.
In the story, Jace has rebuilt the Multiverse into a version he prefers, called the Echoverse. The cards show what familiar heroes might have become in that version of reality.
Echoed pairs in every pack
The headline mechanic for collectors is the echoed pair. Every Play Booster and Collector Booster contains one: two cards of the same rarity showing a character as they are, and as they turned out in Jace's reality.
The first previews used the five planeswalkers who debuted in 2007, so players who started with Lorwyn singles will recognize the line-up straight away. There are 30 borderless echoed pair cards in total, making 15 pairs, and their art spans both cards when you place them side by side.
Shattered mirror cards and the serialized headliner
Reality Fracture also has 13 shattered mirror cards, five at rare and eight at mythic rare. Each one shows a classic card next to its Echoverse twin. Non-foil versions appear in both booster types, while facet foil versions are Collector Booster only.
The top chase is the serialized Bloodline Recollector, limited to 500 copies and painted by Mark Poole. Poole illustrated cards in the original 1993 set, and his work on Alpha includes part of the Power Nine. Non-serialized copies play exactly the same, so the serial number matters only to collectors.
Commander players are covered too
The set comes with its own Commander product, Multiverse Reforged. The 100-card deck includes two mythic legendary cards that can lead it, both borderless and foil. Five mono-color Foundations Commander Decks launched the same day for newer players.
Opening a box is still the most fun way to find echoed pairs. If you keep sealed product, the store's Magic booster boxes stretch back through many older sets as well.
What is next for Magic in 2026
Two more releases close the year. Mystery Booster: Commander Edition lands on November 9, and Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek follows on November 13, with prerelease events from November 6 to 12. Older cards often come back into demand when a new set references them, so it is worth checking your Magic singles before the next spoiler season starts.
